Ron has over 30 years of private equity and executive level operational experience. Ron is currently a Managing Director of Harris Preston & Partners, LLC, a private equity firm focused on co-investment opportunities alongside proven private equity firms. Prior to Harris Preston & Partners, Mr. Harris founded Southwest Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on corporate buyouts and select venture financings. Mr. Harris also served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas-San Antonio Branch, where he chaired the Board for three of his six-year term.
Prior to Southwest Capital Partners, Mr. Harris, a successful serial entrepreneur, led the effort to create Pervasive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: PVSW), where he served as President & CEO. During his tenure, Pervasive significantly expanded its operations, acquired three different companies and successfully launched its IPO. Prior to Pervasive, Mr. Harris was instrumental in the start of Citrix Systems (NASDAQ: CTXS) where he served as Executive Vice President with responsibility for marketing, engineering, and customer service operations. Mr. Harris also served as an Advisory Board Member for the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, served on the board of AG-TECH in Nagoya, Japan, and was an investor and board member of both Exterprise, Inc, and Journee Software, Inc. prior to their respective acquisitions by Commerce One, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMRC), and Initiate Systems, Inc. He currently chairs the board of Leadership Development International.
Mr. Harris has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University and an MBA with honors from the University of Texas.
